Proper Burning of a Lux Candle

    • Always keep the candle wick trimmed to 1/4" to maximize the burn time. A short wick provides
      a slower and more even burn. Remember, the higher the fragrance level, the more oil
      (fuel) in the candle. A short (1/4") wick will not allow smoking on the side of the glass.
      If you see black soot on your Lux Candle glass, this means the candle was burned with an untrimmed wick.
    
    • Be sure to burn the candle a minimum of 3 to 4 hours to allow the wax to liquify across the top.
      If you plan to burn longer, just trim and re-light, burning a shorter time may created a hole down
      the middle of the candle.

    • Check to see if the wick is in the center of the glass. Occasionally a wick gets off-center,
      simply use atweezer or needle nose pliers and gently pull toward the center of the glass.

    • Lux Candles safely uses zinc core wicks only. The zinc (metal) core is used for holding the wick in place while
      pouring and burning. These wicks are glued down to prevent floating.

    • Do not burn in a draft. The slightest breeze will cause the candle to burn to one side. Also, fanning will
      decrease the burn time.
